Rights, Privacy, Dignity, Respect, Independence, Choice, Communication & Safety

These words are a reflection of the philosophy of our care to our service users.

Rights

We place the rights of our service users at the forefront of our philosophy of care. We seek to advance these rights in all aspects of the environment and the services we provide and to encourage our service users to exercise their rights to the full.

Privacy

The right of individuals to be left alone or undisturbed and free from intrusion or public attention into their affairs.

Dignity & Respect

All our service users have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. The right to dignity recognises the value of our service users as individuals and the specific nature of each person’s particular needs. We will treat our service users with the same respect we would want for ourselves or a member of our family.

Independence

Service users will be supported to maintain and extend independence. We aim to maximise each service user’s capacity for self-care and mobility.

Choice

Each service user will be encouraged and supported to exercise their full potential for making personal choices related to care, support, and lifestyles.

Communication

Service users have the right to express themselves, be listened to and fully involved in all aspects of their care and support. Trinity takes a Total Communication approach to support service users, with staff trained in AAC Augmentative and Alternative Communication including PECS, sign support English and intensive interaction.

Safeguarding

We place a very high priority on keeping our service users safe. The staff team are highly skilled at recognising when people are at risk of abuse or feel unsafe and are proactive in reporting concerns. We understand that empowering service users to raise concerns and to challenge risks to their safety is an important part of safeguarding and support the development of self-advocacy. All service safeguarding procedures are in line with current best practice guidance.

Our 'Why'

A Message from the Directors

As parents of young adults with complex needs, we understand the difficulties and challenges faced by families as our young people prepare to transition to adulthood.

Our young adults deserve to be provided with the highest quality of care and support to help them to become as independent as possible and to fulfill their full potential.

We believe adults with complex needs should be listened to and communicated with in a format appropriate to their needs to support their individual choices.
